HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME! 30 YEARS AND MOVING RIGHT ALONG
March 15 my beloved hubby and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Hooray for us! And to think "they" said we'd never make it! But we showed 'them' didn't we. I love him more now than ever and as I've grown older and wiser I appreciate him for who he is now more than ever. Marriage is a continual growing process and just like all growing things it changes like the seasons of our lives. It's a work in progress and the love for one another changes from newlyweds into the more mature years. Unless as a couple you understand that basic bit of knowledge you are more likely to end up in divorce or an unhappy marriage. I'm no expert on marriage relations but I do have some years of my own experince to give me a podium on which to stand.
Marriage is a give and take, forgive and forget, live and laugh, work and play type of format. As the family grows the marriage grows just like the branches of a tree. The roots have to be nourished, watered and fed good things to become a healthy tree. The tree that you see on top of the ground is a result of what is happening out of sight under the ground. If the trees fruit and branches are not good that is the result of whats happened at the roots.
Just like a good tree provides good fruit, shelter for birds and animals, seasonal beauty and other things, so does a good marriage. A good marriage will keep a family together in the good times and bad. Ours has been a good marriage, not a perfect one by far, but generally a good marriage. I contribute it to the fact that we have the Lord Jesus as the center of our relationship and as he leads we follow.
