Berlin Wall Anniversary
Here again is another prime example of the worlds failure to pass history along to the younger generations. Twenty years ago this horrible symbol of captivity was torn down releasing its victims aka prisoners to freedom! Hallelujah! Only those who lived during that timeline and before can really appreciate celebrating the event. I really wonder how many young folks have ever learned anything about the purpose of the wall and its occupants on either side of the wall. Many lives were wasted because of leaders who were in authority at the time of the Berlin walls construction. Even as Americans we were sympathetic to all those people who were breaking free after so many long and tormented years of separtion from family and loved ones. Twenty years ago, history that we can still learn from today, if only we would.
