Wild flowers with something extra!

A few days ago, my husband and I took an evening drive around Lake Linville. Along the side of the road as I admired so many 'black-eyed susie' flowers, my husband asked if I wanted him to get out and pick me a bouquet of them. So I said "sure"!. As I waited in the car he handed the flowers  inside to me and I noticed a few small insects that we immediately got rid of. As we went on down the road for a little way I noticed some really pretty orange colored flowers and so, being the wonderful husband that he is and getting to give me 'free' flowers he was all for the idea of picking more. I looked these little orange flowers up on the internet to see what they were and found out they are called Butterflyweed (http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ASTU). I think its an insult to call such a pretty flower a weed!

So when I got home I had a bouquet of black-eyed susies to display in my living room and I chose to have the bouquet of orange Butterflyweed in my kitchen. I can't remember now exactly what it was a few days later that got my attention, but whatever it was drawed my eye to something yellow with black stripes on my orange flowers! YES! it was a worm, not only one but on another leaf was worm number two!!!  Seeing is believing so I got my digital camera and the little worms were not a bit camera shy.
